The picture on the left was taken on Thanksgiving Day 2007—just before we sat down to eat perfectly cooked cornish game hens, wild rice, green beans, and cranberry sauce. Over the years, we have had some pretty wonderful holiday meals—many of which were prepared by my Dad, who happened to be an excellent chef! I have always enjoyed this time of year and the chance to gather with loved ones! I pray that you have equally warm memories of this day!
An special invitation to you this Thanksgiving—
My mother—your paternal grandmother—ask that I extend to you an invitation to join us this Thanksgiving Day. This will be my mother's eightieth Thanksgiving and she would like the opportunity to celebrate it with all of those whom she holds dearest and to express her gratitude for her amazing abundance. She would be most honored if you and your sister would join her.
Given that you likely have plans for Thursday, she suggested that we could have an encore dinner on Friday. Please give it some thought. One never knows how many more Thanksgiving Days our elderly relations have on this Earth.
Much love to you on this Thanksgiving Day and always!
