It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of my Aunt Jean—your Great Aunt Jean—this afternoon (August 28, 2009). She was my Dad's older sister and only sibling. While I have many fond memories of her teaching me calligraphy, helping me get into painting, and telling me many tall tales about family members, I am sad that you never had the opportunity to get to know her or to spend any time with her.
I will be heading out to Denver, Colorado on Sunday (August 30) for the viewing on Monday and the funeral
on Tuesday. We will be driving up to Powell, Wyoming on Thursday for a graveside service on Friday.
She will be buried in Crown Hill Cemetery outside Powell—near where her parents (my grandparents) and her daughter
(my cousin) are buried. One day, this is where my earthly remains shall lie, as well.
She is now with her parents—Grandpa John and Grandma Gail—her brother Noel (my Dad)—and her beloved husband, Uncle Stub. Uncle Stub passed away quite suddenly many years ago after finishing a round of golf.
After looking at these pictures, you will likely agree that my Aunt Jean was an attractive lady. She always had a smile—always had a story—and was always laughing! She was a radiant soul! No wonder everyone liked her so much! I have been very fortunate to have her as my aunt. Thanks be to GOD!
